Getting back to the Matrix feature, you can set it to work for either music or games, and it will give you a pretty amazing re-creation of positional audio. That’s just from a stereo input. When you use the handy, colored cables to hook the system up to your 5.1 soundcard, things get even better. High tones could have used just a little punching up, but overall the sound had a surprising richness considering the size of the satellites. The woofer doesn’t disappoint either. I won’t bore you with a lengthy discussion of the specs (which you can find at the bottom of the article), but they did make some subtle changes that seem to allow it to effect the air around you when something with a nice beat is playing. Now the speaker fires down instead of just horizontally and they raised the subwoofer up off the floor by a couple inches which prevents it from getting as hot as other systems.

Finally, for those gamers who really want to put their own stamp on everything, Logitech engineered each of the satellites to have a clear removable cover under which you can “skin” the speakers. You can download and print off designs Logitech came up with and insert them, or download the small application and customize them yourself.

With the customization option, the great features and sound, and the very attractive price, this is a system we could easily recommend to both cost-conscious casual gamers and well-to-do professional players.
