The Pocket Retro Game Emulator is saddled with a lame name, but the specs sure are impressive and the $99 price-tag is just about right. What’s it do? It plays all games for the NES, SNES, GBA, SEGA Genesis and NEO GEO. Better yet, no third-party emulation software is needed as it can play any and all ROMs you throw at it.  But wait, there’s more! This bad boy can play movie files, audio files, can view JPEGS, read E-books, record your voice and even has a built-in FM radio. That’s a hell of a package for $99.

Want specs? Course ya do!

Gizmondo was the name of the company headed by Bo Stefan Eriksson, a Swedish con artist who launched a portable gaming device that quickly failed. Bo Stefan Eriksson is also the man who crashed his Ferrari in Malibu, California and blamed it on a mysterious driver who was never found, and never existed. Eriksson is a real piece of work, an old school loser whose charm forces money from the wallets of ignorant investors.

Many articles were written about Eriksson, but none better than Wired’s expose “Gizmondo’s Spectacular Crack-Up”, which has now been purchased by producer Beau Flynn and director Craig Zobel (Great Wall of Sound) in the hopes of turning Erikkson’s criminal adventures into a film.
