The iPhone is no stranger to emulators of one sort or another, but having an official emulator sanctioned by the original hardware manufacturer is a rarity indeed. Sega has announced the company will be releasing a Genesis emulator in early February, with the following games available at launch:

The Pocket Retro Game Emulator is saddled with a lame name, but the specs sure are impressive and the $99 price-tag is just about right. What’s it do? This bad boy can play movie files, audio files, can view JPEGS, read E-books, record your voice and even has a built-in FM radio. That’s a hell of a package for $99.
A word of advice for Sony execs: the PSP sucks. Drop it. Stop trying to make it a viable handheld when smart phones are kicking its ass in terms of functionality, performance and software offerings.
Now, considering you won’t listen to logic, let us brace ourselves for your next imminent failure, a marketing campaign geared towards tweens, evidenced by the newly launched site PSP In Your Hands, which appears to accomplish nothing in your futile efforts to expand your dwindling customer base.

Rumors have been building for weeks that Microsoft is poised to announce a new Zune model, though it will take the shape of a “digital entertainment handheld”. Now, photos of the device have been leaked, including photos of the spec-sheet.
Gizmondo was the name of the company headed by Bo Stefan Eriksson, a Swedish con artist who launched a portable gaming device that quickly failed. Bo Stefan Eriksson is also the man who crashed his Ferrari in Malibu, California and blamed it on a mysterious driver who was never found, and never existed. Eriksson is a real piece of work, an old school loser whose charm forces money from the wallets of ignorant investors.
Many articles were written about Eriksson, but none better than Wired’s expose “Gizmondo’s Spectacular Crack-Up”, which has now been purchased by producer Beau Flynn and director Craig Zobel (Great Wall of Sound) in the hopes of turning Erikkson’s criminal adventures into a film.
