It's the one thing Smash Bros. players have dreamed of for years, and it's finally coming true: online play. Confirmed earlier today on the Smash Bros. official site, gamers will have the ability to play against up to 3 other players, with support for playing against friends or in random skirmishes. Once you add the necessary Friend Codes, you'll be able to see when your friends are online and challenge them to matches. Communication is handled by predetermined messages that are mapped to the D-pad. In a random match, you won't know who your playing against and communication is nonexistent. Along with the news of online play, Nintendo release a few screenshots of it in action so be sure to check them out.
