Guitar Hero for…Nintendo DS? Yes, you’ve read that correctly! Activision has just announced its plans to release Guitar Hero: On Tour for the DS this coming summer. The DS version boasts multiple songs that will not be released for any other platform. But just how exactly will Guitar Hero work for the DS? Well, the touch screen will be used for the strumming and picking, while the slot add-on, called the “Guitar Hero Grip,” will feature the string colors. Although the gameplay sounds like it might be too much for a portable, we’re still captivated.

Activision will be taking full advantage of the DS features. The mic will be implemented into gameplay, players can go wireless for multiplayer action, and even design their own band tee’s using the touch pad. The DS has great sound features that will serve Guitar Hero nicely.

There will be five unlockable gig venues, as well as player customization. Several styles and outfits will be exclusive to Guitar Hero: On Tour, for DS only. The game simply sounds innovative and entertaining. We’ll keep you posted on this bad boy.
