Remember that event that used to happen once a year when a certain large toy store chain would let a lucky kid run through and grab whatever they wanted for about 90 seconds? For some reason, the Captain thought it would be funny to try to keep me on my toes by giving me a similar task when EA’s Summer Preview Event rolled around yesterday. I had a very short amount of time to get from the airport, to the event and then back to the airport. With so many games to cover – and there were a lot; MySims, the new Harry Potter game, NCAA 08 and more – I had a tough call to make. Do I take a run at every game possible or get the best information possible on the games that look the best? I think you’ll all be glad to hear that I’m now able to present some nice in depth coverage of three upcoming EA titles:
The Simpsons (working title) is no doubt the biggest news to come out of the night. Check out this preview for some great info from creative director Jonathan Knight and some questions that only Game Almighty would ask.
NASCAR 08 looks absolutely amazing as well. This just might be the one game that finally unites simulation and arcade racing fans into one community. I sat down for a while and got the inside line on this upcoming title.
Finally, SimCity DS looks to put a long-time PC favorite into your pocket. Build (or destroy) cities on the go, whenever and wherever, even share with your friends!
Of course we don’t want to leave anyone hanging if I didn’t manage the time to cover their favorite game, so here’s some auxiliary information about more of EA’s upcoming titles.
Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix
