This game was the predisesor to the more well known game Full Auto. Twisted metal black is the last game in the twisted metal sieries of racing car combat. After the first versions of twisted metal, made by sonys 989 studios, they wanted to return the series to its roots and handed the franchise over to incog Inc. which was founded by singletrac (The inventors of the series). Unlike the first two games which were more lite hearted, Twisted Metal Black was rounded about the dark nature of people who were committed to the blackfield assylum. However when the thought of switching to another gaming engine they said no to keep theclassic looks of the twisted metal series. The same controls were also utilized so you could pick up and play with out learning the controls all over again.

  As with all the twisted metal games, the overall story line is the same. All the characters have a deep and dark wish that they want to be granted, they are confronted by a man named Calypso. A man who can grant you your hearts desire, but under one condition, they must battle other oponents to the death and win the twisted metal tournament.With the Characters having nothing to lose they eagerly acepet Calypso's challenge and are outfitted with a car to thier own personal tastes and are commanded to fight to the death. Keep in mind that Calypso is indeed evil and wishes to expand the trait. Character's with evil wishes for the most part are granted there hearts desire, while those with kinder thoughts and wishes often realize that calypso will have the last laugh.

  Basic Weapons:

  Machine Gun; the stock weapon that comes with all cars, use it when you run out of ammo but be carefull that they dont overheat and trip the safety cool down.

  Machine Gun upgrade; Increased fire power to the machine gun, but you can only carry 60 rounds so use it cautiously.

  Homing Misseles; Great accuracy in these little babies, but they have a small warhead so they dont cause must damage.

  Fire Missles; A much larger warhead packs a larger punch, but the homing capabilities are diminished.

  Power Missle; A highly damaging weapon with no homing what so ever so aim well.

  Gas Can; A devesting air or mine attack by this deadly baby will leave scars on your car.

  Ricohet; send this baby bouncing off walls and into your oppnents, the longer it takes to hit you the more damage it inflicts.

  Enviromental; A special attack which some levels may or may not have causes a level-specific special to occur.

  Special Weapon; every player has one, its just a point of how devastating it is.

  Playable Caracters: 

  Billy Ray Stillwell; One day out in the field billy tends to his crops when a crop dusting pilot makes an unscheduled delivery of a deadly toxin right over Billy. His crops die but billy dosent, instead he recieves a deformed face. He goes inside to consol his wife when he see's her kissing the pilot. He goes wild, grabs the closest thing to him which was a garden hoe and beats her for over an hour. Later he is picked up by the police and committed to blackfield assylum.

  Preacher; On a lonely night the preacher just aproached by a couple who says there baby is being possesed and that they need him to preform an exorcism. He takes the baby and begins to minister him when he notices just how power full the demon is. The demon turns its attention to the preacher who is helpless in his fight to throw the demon off. The demon destroys the preachers church and leaves no one alive. But just as the police arrive the demon vanishes and the preacher is commited to the asylum.

  Agent Stone; A hostage situation has developed and he is among one of the  many trained snipers when he snaps. he begins to think of all the horrors comitted by these men and how they should be brought to justice. He desides to open fire on the building ang make them pay for what they have done. Only to realize he has just also ended the lives of two inocent civilians, later do to his mental condition is thrown in the assylum.

  Mr. Grimm; While fighting in the vietnam war Grimm and his best friend Benny are shot down and captured by the enemy. The next day they are thrown in a 25 foot deep hole and left to rot. Two weeks later and advisor comes to the hole and tells grimm the only way to survive is to eat benny so Grimm throws down his knife and paces. Two days later benny dies and grimm left with no other choice devours his best firend and fashions a hlemet out of the skull. Later that day he gets rescued but when the GI's try to take off the helmet he kills 4 of them. Later after the war is over he is commited to the asylum.

  John Doe; John was a member of a small rag tag group of robbers and thieves. They planed to blow up the center for diesease control in the midtown center. The day they set the bombs and begin to leave, the next thing John remembers is waking up in the asylum.

  Frank McCuctheon: A small town boxer who almost made it big, Frank is given the worst beating of his life by Phil "the drill" Marley. Frank goes to different surgeons to repair his face however none of them can repair him for the money he has. He however trusts doctor hatch who just lost 20 grand on that fight and cuts out franks eyes and tongue. In a rage Frank destroys the hospital killing 6 innocent people and is committed to the asylum.

  Bloody Mary; A bridesmade who does'nt catch the wedding bouqet thrown by her best firend has a flashback. She remembers when she was a child how a boy called her ugly and sick. She grabs the closest thing to her (the knife to cut the cake with) and stabs the bride to death. Shee drags her off and takes her dress off and wears it. It fits perfectly and she wears it all the way to the asylum.

  Dollface; As she worked in a mask shop for Mr. Cereal there is no room for error. After she makes a trajic mistake and and spills coffee all over a new mask her boss freaks out and nails a mask to her face and locks it to her face with a lock with an odd key. She is later sent to the asylum for unknown reasons.

  Raven; As raven and Kelly (her best friend) try reading tarrot cards to see if a boy Kelly likes will marry her, two boys who believe them to be witches ubduct them wondering if whitchs can swim. They drop them in the river and as kellys last request she asks Raven to make the boys pay. Later that knight raven's parents send her to the asylum because they believe kellys death put her over the edge.

  Sweet Tooth; A mass mureder who has killed to many in his day comes to the city. In a violent string of cereal killings he kills to many to quick to be numbered. When he is finally caught he is sent to the electric chair. As thousands watch a preacher asks god to burden sweet tooth with the fires of hell and sets sweet tooths head on fire for eternity. Sweet tooth escapes and kills 3 guards. He has been in the asylum for 3 weeks now.
