So, I know I don't post here as often as I should (or as much as I'd like), but today it felt like I needed to post some news.  Yesterday I learned that a friend of mine, comic book artist Mike Wieringo, passed away at his home due to a heart attack.  While Mike and I didn't get together all the time, we still managed to talk when we could, and he was gracious enough to help me out from time to time when I needed art for one thing or another.  He was a big fan of video games, and he loved playing the Tom Clancy games in his spare time.  I first learned of his passing through Randy Green, one of my closest friends and one of Mike's closest friends.

It's always hard when the world loses a great talent, and Mike certainly fell into that category.  He was a hard worker, an gifted artist, and one of the nicest guys in the industry.  I was stunned to hear he passed of a heart attack, as Mike was a strict vegetarian, a regular in the gym, and in good enough shape to take me in any sport.  It drives home the point that none of us ever truly knows how long we may have, and how important it is to make the most of the our time.

To his friends, family, and loved ones ... you all have my heartfelt condolences, and I grieve with you.

Mike ... you will be truly missed, and I'm honored to have known you as a friend.

I would love to live in your world for about ten minutes ... I don't think I'd get anything done, but I probably wouldn't care that much.
