I first and foremost value story in games, so I really respect people like Warren Spector. I also am for the maturing of games in the eyes of the public. That doesn't mean I think games like GTA 4 are great, it means that I think people who put shit like "hot coffee" into games make us all look like erection-driven little kids.
I am not a guy who likes romantic comedies. I generally look for one of three things in a movie - inspiration, side-splitting humor, or the feeling that I can take on all comers. The greatest movies are those that can do all three. I have to make a quick statement here regarding a fact that I still seethe over - who was the super-brain that thought Shakespeare in Love deserved Best Picture over Saving Private Ryan? Are you people retarded? Hollywood needs to take its politics out of its ass and vote on quality, not issues. (Yes I know that was years ago.) Yes, I know Shakespeare in Love was great, but we are talking about Ben Affleck right?

I am not a big music person. I really just use it to alter my moods, not for appreciation of the music itself. So for instance I love Rage Against the Machine before a fist fight, DMB before a good kiss from my wife, and crazy Hip Hop early in the morning to give me some energy for the day. In fact that has been what I have been listening to the most lately - Hip Hop. I myself find it quite strange when I feel the urge to pop in some JT or Usher.

I really dislike sports. Some day I will take some time to write a log entry as to why. OK, I will at least send you in the right direction - athletes have become the new heroes of our youth & bring with that a focus on the physical rather than the moral or mental. Sports appeal to everything in us that is animal. We are losing our focus on the characteristics we have that distinguish us from everything else squishy and mobile on this planet.
