Communication within your squad is another key to success. You are supposed to be acting like a tight-knit group with a single objective. Make your intentions known so everyone is on the same page. Don’t be afraid to assume a leadership position and recommend objectives. With that, don’t be surprised if no one pays attention or, more than likely, calls you a stupid fag. Comes with the territory.

If you’re an infantryman then please, take a few seconds out of your busy day and repair vehicles!

Be All You Can Be

Which class you should select depends on how you want to play. If sniping is your thing then the Scout is the class for you. Have good aim and enjoy defending flags? Rifleman keeps the enemy at a distance. Finally, for those Rambos out there, Infantryman is the class for you, great at storming a position with gun a’blazing with the added bonus of vehicular repair.

Change Class Without Re-Spawning

If you picked a class that no longer serves a purpose for the immediate task at hand, then you can change your class without the need for respawning. You will need the equipment of a fallen enemy or friendly, however, but once you pick up their gear then you’ll assume a new role.

Don’t Run Around Like a Maniac

You know what people are who run around in open territory? Targets. Don’t run somewhere with no purpose in mind. Before moving, hit the START button and take a quick glance at the map. Make note of where your squad members and other players are and figure out the best way to get there without running along open ground. Use trees and hills to obscure your presence from the enemy.

Dying a Lot Benefits the Enemy

Winning a round of Battlefield 1943 is simple: reduce the amount of enemy ‘tickets’ to zero. You do this by capturing flags and killing enemies. Capturing flags reduces tickets faster than sheer enemy slaughter, though the two combined is unbeatable.

When you die as a player, your team loses one ticket. If you keep dying a lot you are not helping the team. Therefore, don’t die a lot. Pretty simple.

Note: The more flags your team has captured, the faster the enemy tickets will deduct.

Know Your Spawn Point

At the beginning of a new round your team will only have a single spawn point. As the round progresses you should gain more flags, meaning you will have more spawn locations to select from. You can either spawn with your squad (preferable) or you can select any captured flag as a spawn location.

Selecting a flag far from the action is of no value, unless that location has a tank, plane or vehicle you need.
