Last week we reported that Activision-Blizzard had hired advertising powerhouse TBWA and charged them with making the November release of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’s sequel the “biggest entertainment launch of all time — bigger than any video game, any movie or other entertainment property.” Well today Amazon is firing off a Call of Duty 4 salvo of its own in what retailers are hoping will be a costly war on the wallets of consumers. The online retailers “Deal of the Day” is the game’s prequel, just in time to whet the appetite of gamers unfamiliar with this modern version of the franchise. While the original was first released at $59.99, Amazon’s now selling the Game of the Year Edition at only $28.98.
If you haven’t tried it yet, you really do owe it to yourself to spend at least a little time with both the single and multiplayer modes as Modern Warfare is one of the best games to come out in years. Pick yours up here: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
